Very often people see media clips of mountain bikers flowing down hill effortlessly, but they forget that you need to get to the top of the hill before you can go back down. I have been out with newbies who have been so tired by the time they get to the top of the hill that they have had enough and don't even enjoy the downhill sections. I have also been with first timers who are super fit and thrive on the climbs, putting me through my paces, but then they have no skills to descent with any progression. By joining a club you will get the best of advice on how to get the most from your mountain biking. Your weak areas will be improved and you will learn to ride the trails better, safer and with more enjoyment.
